About MAH MCA CET 2027

MAH MCA CET is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, for admission to the two-year full-time MCA programme. The CET score is used for admission to eligible Government, Government-aided, university, university-managed and unaided MCA institutes in Maharashtra that are approved and recognized by the Government.

Eligibility Criteria for MAH MCA CET 2027

  • The candidate should have passed any graduation degree (B.E./B.Tech, B.Sc., B.Com., B.Voc., BCA, etc.), preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 or Graduation Level, with at least 50% marks in aggregate. For Reserved Categories, EWS and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State, the minimum requirement is 45% marks.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of their qualifying examination are also eligible to appear for MAH MCA CET.

  1. a) Mathematics and Statistics:
    The question paper covers high-school mathematics topics up to the 12th Standard, including:
  • Algebra: Fundamental operations, expansion, factorization, quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic/geometric/harmonic progressions, binomial theorem, permutations and combinations.
  • Co-ordinate Geometry: Cartesian coordinates, equations of lines and circles, distance formula, pair of straight lines, parabola, ellipse, hyperbola, and basic geometric transformations.
  • Differential Equations: First-order differential equations, linear differential equations with constant coefficients, and homogeneous linear differential equations.
  • Trigonometry: Identities, trigonometric equations, properties and solutions of triangles, height and distance, and inverse functions.
  • Probability and Statistics: Probability, averages, dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of dispersion, skewness and kurtosis, random variables, distribution functions, mathematical expectation, Binomial/Poisson/Normal distributions, curve fitting, least squares, correlation and regression.
  • Arithmetic: Ratios and proportions, time and work, distance and speed, percentages, etc.
  • Basic Set Theory and Functions: Sets, relations and mappings.
  • Mensuration: Areas of triangles and quadrilaterals, area and circumference of circles, and volumes and surface areas of cubes, spheres, cylinders and cones.
  1. b) Logical / Abstract Reasoning:
    Questions designed to assess logical thinking, problem-solving ability, and the ability to analyze logical situations and information provided in passages.
  2. c) English Comprehension and Verbal Ability:
    Questions covering basic English grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, sentence correction, words and phrases, and jumbled paragraphs.
  3. d) Computer Concepts:
  • Computer Basics: Organization of computers, CPU, instruction structure, input/output devices, computer memory, memory organization, and backup devices.
  • Data Representation: Characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, binary arithmetic, signed and two’s complement arithmetic, floating-point representation, Boolean algebra, truth tables, and Venn diagrams.
  • Computer Architecture: Basics of digital logic, block structure of computers, communication between processor and I/O devices, and interrupts.
  • Computer Language: Fundamentals of data and file structures, high-level languages, computer programming in C, and advanced programming concepts.
  • Operating System Basics.
