What is AFCAT?
AFCAT is Air Force Common Admission Test is designed to pick and employ the best officers who are ready to serve the spectacular field of the Air Force. It is the common admission test designed to select the officer for different branches of the Indian Air Force: Ground Duty Branch, Flying branch, and Technical branch.

AFCAT scheme of exam:
The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer, the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted from negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.
AFCAT Selection Process:
Candidates applied for AFCAT will have to go through the selection procedure as follows:
For Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: Candidates will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). The AFCAT will be of two hours duration and will contain multiple-choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness, and military aptitude. Selected candidates will have to undergo further testing of two stages.
Stage-I: consists of Intelligence Test along with other tests, document check.
Stage-II: consists of Psychological tests, Group Tests, and interviews.
For Flying Branch: Candidates have to go through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). The AFCAT will be of two hours duration and will contain multiple-choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness, and military aptitude. Intelligence Test, Psychological test along with other tests, document check, Group Tests interview & CPSS (Computerized Pilot Selection System) and or PABT would be administered to eligible candidates.
For Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch: Candidates have to go through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). The AFCAT will be of two hours duration and will contain multiple-choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness, and military aptitude. Intelligence Test, Psychological test along with other tests, document check, Group Tests, interview.

How many papers are there in Afcat?
AFCAT examination is conducted for two job profiles, one for the flying branch and another for the technical branch. Candidates need to answer questions from all the four sections asked in the online test; verbal ability in English, numerical ability, reasoning and military aptitude and general awareness. A total of 100 questions are asked of 300 marks.
How many times can I give Afcat?
AFCAT examination is conducted to recruit candidates into three branches; flying branch, technical branch, and ground duty branch. There is no limit to the number of times one can apply for the examination but the candidate should be within the age limit which is specified.
What are the subjects in Afcat?
The candidates are evaluated based on four subjects; English, mathematics, reasoning and military ability and general awareness.
Is maths compulsory for Afcat?
Candidates who wish to sit for the AFCAT examination may not have Mathematics as their compulsory subject in their graduation but they should have mathematics in their 10 + 2.
What is a good score in Afcat?
Candidates who score between 140 to 160 marks out of a total of 300 marks are considered to have scored well.
Do questions repeat in Afcat?
Candidates might a few repeated questions in the AFCAT examination, or otherwise, the questions are different each year. The subject matter and the underlying principle on the basis of which questions are asked might remain the same.
