What is CLAT?
CLAT is the entrance doorway that takes you to explore the world of undergraduate and post-graduate programs of law offered by National Law Universities. Eligibility Criteria For CLAT:
Eligibility criteria for CLAT differ a little for both UG and PG courses. Let’s see how:
UG courses: For students applying for under-graduate level need to fulfill the below-mentioned obligations:
- For applicants belonging to unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons/NRI/NRI Sponsored Categories – A pass in 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks.
- For applicants belonging to SC/ST categories – A pass in 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 40% marks
- Candidates appearing in the 10+2 examination in March/April 2018 can also apply for the CLAT 2018 examination.
Note: The candidate will be required to produce proof of the minimum qualifying marks at the time of admission, failing which he will be denied the admission.
- There is no upper age limit for applying for the upcoming CLAT 2018 examination.
PG Courses: Students applying for post-graduate courses must fulfill the below-mentioned requirements:
- For candidates belonging to the unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons/NRI/NRI Sponsored Categories – An LL.B degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% of marks scored in the final year.
- For candidates belonging to SC/ST categories – An LL.B degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks scored in the final year.
- Candidates appearing in the final year LL.B examination in April/May 2018 can also apply for the postgraduate courses.
Note: The candidate will be required to produce proof of the minimum qualifying marks at the time of admission, failing which he will be denied admission.

How much percentage is required for CLAT?
If the question means how much percentage is required to be eligible for the examination, then it is 45%. General category students must have at least 45% marks in their class 12th while SC and ST must have 40% for the same.
What is the passing mark for CLAT?
There is no specific passing or qualifying marks for CLAT. Each year, the cutoff changes, and if a candidate scores equal to or more than the cut-off, then he or she can easily get into any of the National Law Universities of India.
Can I prepare for CLAT in 4 months?

How many seats are there in CLAT?
There are separate seat allotments for post-graduation law admissions and undergraduate law admission through CLAT. The allotment of seats changes every year. There are 507 seats for pos graduates while 2300 for under graduates.
Is there negative marking in CLAT?
CLAT examination consists of 150 questions which are of class 12th level. For both the UG and PG examinations, candidates are awarded one mark for each correct answer while 0.25 marks are subtracted for each incorrect answer.
Is maths compulsory for CLAT?
There are no such criteria that mention Mathematics as a compulsory subject to be eligible to sit for the CLAT examination. Students from any stream are it humanities, commerce or science can sit for the examination.
