    About RRB NTPC-

    The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts Railway NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Categories) and other railway examinations for Graduates (Bachelor Degree) and Undergraduates (12th Pass), offering applicants the golden opportunity to fulfil their dream of securing a government job in Indian Railways.

    Notification for RRB NTPC is released by the RRBs on their respective web portal, posts that comes under this exam are Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice, and Station Master.

    Education Qualification: 12th Pass or equivalent with 50% marks. (Relaxation will be given as per categories and higher qualification)

    Age Limit: 18 to 30 years.

    (Relaxation in upper Age is as per different categories)

    • Senior Clerk cum Typist

    Age Limit: 18 to 33 years.

    Education Qualification: Degree from recognised university or its equivalent.

    Note: In most of the above posts Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on Computer is essential.

    Exam Pattern-

    Selection Process

    The selection process will be based on following stages:

    • Computer Based Test (CBT)-Stage 1
    • Computer Based Test (CBT)-Stage 2
    • Typing Skill Test/Computer-Based Aptitude Test (If required)
    • Document Verification/Medical Examination

    Note: Based on the performance of candidates in the Stage-1 and Stage-2 exams, they would be proceeded for the Skill Test/Aptitude Test/Document Verification.

    • Stage 1 of CBT is of a screening nature.
    • There will be negative marking and a 1/3rd marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS40%, OBC (NCL) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.

    • There will be negative marking and a 1/3rd marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
    • The level of questions will be different for the different level of posts.
    • Normalization of marks will be done.

    Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

    (Only for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master)

    • Qualifying marks: The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
    • This applies to all candidates irrespective of community or category and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible.
    • Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for considering them for the post of SM/TA.
    • The CBAT shall have question and answer options only in English and Hindi.
    • There shall be no negative marking in CBAT.
    • The merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in the CBAT.

    Typing Skill Test (TST)

    • Qualifying in nature.
    • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a Personal Computer only without editing tools and a spell check facility.

    Document Verification (DV)

    Based on the performance of candidates in 2nd Stage CBT and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBAT/TST (as applicable), candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.
