    Staff Selection Commission – Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL)

     The Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit candidates for various posts such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Postal Assistant (PA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), and Court Clerk in various ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India.     Eligibility Criteria for SSC CHSL-

    The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.

     Eligibility Criteria Details
    NationalityCandidates must be citizens of India, subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who came over to India before 1st January 1962, or persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
    Age LimitCandidates must be between 18 and 27 years old as of January 1st of the examination year. Age relaxation is provided for certain categories as per government norms.
    Educational QualificationCandidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
    Skill TestCandidates must have a typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per  minute in Hindi on a computer.
    Physical FitnessCandidates must be physically fit as per the standards set by the Staff Selection Commission.

    Exam pattern for SSC CHSL-

    The SSC CHSL exam consists of three stages – Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. Below is the paper pattern for each stage:

    Note: The Tier 1 exam is computer-based and consists of multiple-choice questions. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

    Tier 2 Exam Pattern-

    Note: The Tier 2 exam is a descriptive paper in English/Hindi and is conducted in pen and paper mode. The candidates have to write an essay and a letter/application in either English or Hindi language. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier 2 is 33%.

    Note: Tier 3 is a Skill Test / Typing Test, which is only applicable for candidates who have applied for posts that require typing or data entry skills. The final merit list of candidates is prepared based on their performance in Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 3 is only qualifying in nature and its marks are not considered for the final selection.
