    MPSC stands for Maharashtra Public Service Commission that is the administrative authority of Maharashtra State defined to conduct the Civil service examination of the state and appoint the most appropriate candidates to serve at varied posts of the State government.     MPSC Exam Pattern:

    Maharashtra Public Service Commission Exam consists of three stages which are divided into Prelims, Mains and Interview session. The detailed examination pattern of the exam is given below:

    Prelims: There are two papers in the Prelims examination. Both will be objective type.

    Mains: A total of six papers are there in the Mains examination in which two papers cover the languages (English & Marathi) and four other covers General Studies. The four papers comprised of the following subjects:

    • History & Geography of Maharashtra
    • Indian Constitution & Politics
    • Economy & Planning, and
    • Human Resource Development along with Human rights.

    Interview: This section comprised of the questions related to the languages (English & Marathi).

    Selection Procedure: The combined competitive examination comprises the following successive stages

    (1) State Services Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) for selection of candidates for Main Examination, and

    (2) State Services Main Examination (Objective Type) for selection of candidates for the various categories of services and posts.
