The MR exam was earlier conducted with the name Non-Matric Entry Recruit (NMET). Previously, a candidate could appear for the examination after clearing the 8th examination. But the eligibility criteria have been raised. Now a candidate needs to possess a matriculation certificate to appear for the exam.
